Vyara joined Oak in September 2016 to oversee grant portfolios in Eastern Europe and Ethiopia and to support the Child Abuse team in Bulgaria with the strategy review process and a range of cross-programme tasks. As programme associate, she now supports the work in Eastern Europe and contributes to the strategic development and the operational activities of the programme.
Under the supervision of the programme officer, she oversees grant portfolios in Bulgaria, Latvia and the Eastern European region. Vyara has over a decade of work experience with Bulgarian not-for-profit organisations, including as administrative director at the Bulgarian Helsinki Committee and child policy coordinator at the National Network for Children. In addition, she worked for two years with the UNICEF office in Bulgaria. Vyara holds a MA in Insurance and Social Security.
