Rachel joined Oak Foundation in 2012 as Writer/Editor. She was promoted to Communications Officer in 2017. She works in collaboration with staff, Trustees and partners to edit internal reports and write and edit articles for the website. She manages external content, including web highlights, newsletters, videos, the annual report and other publications. She collaborates with Oak’s programmes and partners to source stories, photos and other information about their work and she develops videos for both internal and external communications.
Rachel has ten years’ experience working in communications for humanitarian and human rights organisations in Switzerland. Prior to this she worked for ten years for the Irish national broadcaster RTE in both Dublin and London, where she did a variety of jobs. These include airtime negotiations, sales and media planning and providing assistance to the News and Current Affairs teams to ensure the smooth running of the production process.
Rachel is trained in communications studies, journalism, photography and Adobe InDesign. She received a BSC Honours in International Relations from the Open University in Milton Keynes in 2009. She is mother tongue English-speaking and fluent in French.
