New Publication: Justice Data Lab
A report launched by Oak grantee New Philanthropy Capital (NPC) in December 2012 puts forward a strong case for creating a Justice Data Lab to provide a secure, single access point to reoffending data for organisations providing services to offenders in the UK.
NPC considers that having better access to offending data would have huge benefits. This is based on its findings, which suggest that many charities try to access offending data, but many fail; the vast majority find the process difficult, and the current quality of data is variable.
Unlocking this data will help charities and other providers to identify what works best to reduce reoffending and prove their impact.
