“Our goal in hosting a grantee consortium is to provide an opportunity for our partners to engage and learn from each other in authentic and substantive ways. To support deeper learning during our time, we will create opportunities for you to share and learn about others in the network in advance of the meeting. This sets the stage to optimize our time face to face. We hope and expect that the connections made in advance of and during the convening will continue long after.”

– Stacy Parker-Fisher, Oak Foundation

Education First partners with education practitioners, policy-makers, funders and advocates to design and accelerate policies and practices that help all young people succeed in college, careers and life. The organisation is working with the Oak Learning Differences Programme to design and execute a grantee consortium that will build a sense a community, share lessons learned, foster collaboration, and provide a forum for partners to share promising practices to strengthen outcomes for students with learning differences.

ABOUT THE OAK FUNDED  PROJECT

Education First is partnering with the Oak Foundation to design the Learning Differences Programme’s 2017 grantee consortium, which will be held in Chapel Hill, NC. Its consultants have been nationally recognized as skilled facilitators and organizers. Current and former clients include the Ford, Hewlett, Gates, Poses, Carnegie and NoVo Foundations. The objectives for the consortium are to:

  • Establish and continue to strengthen a learning community, including identifying opportunities for ongoing connection and collaboration during and beyond the meeting;
  • Share lessons learned and problems of practice to advance individual and collective impact;
  • Provide a forum for partners to share and to refine their stories and the impact of their work; and
  • Engage with students, teachers and others around how to strengthen outcomes for students with learning differences.
