Oak Foundation’s Bering Sea and North Pacific Programme Goals
To enact, implement and enforce policies and agreements that compel and facilitate ecosystem management of coastal and marine living resources.
In Canada and the United States we support research, advocacy, policy, communications, and grassroots education activities that:
- Reduce and eliminate bycatch and destructive fishing practices;
- Inform fisheries management, including the establishment of marine reserves; and
- Promote effective participation of fishermen and communities in decision-making and resource management.
