To campaign to stop or change government plans to build large and environmentally damaging infrastructure projects in Central and Eastern European countries; and to divert finances from environmentally destructive modes of transportation towards sustainable ones. (Over two years)

Clean Air Action Group
To raise public awareness of the damage and costs caused by heavy trucks, and possible solutions. Specifically, to have the external costs of road freight transport internalized through the application of a per kilometre tax; the revenues gained to stimulate increased use of rail freight. European Federation for Transport and Environment
To organise maximum public and political pressure for an effective system which limits carbon dioxide emissions from new passenger cars sold on the EU market as of 2008, the year the current voluntary industry commitment in this field ends. (Over three years)

To orchestrate a public awareness campaign across Europe to ensure the speeding up of political action on climate change. (Over three years)

World Resources Institute
To replicate the successful US-based Green Power Market Development Group project in Europe. “Group-EU” will be a unique corporate renewable energy “buyers’ group” comprising major commercial and industrial energy users dedicated to building corporate markets for green power within the EU as a means of building them up to a global scale. Climate Action Network Europe
To develop an advocacy project on the key questions surrounding the implementation of the emissions trading system in the EU in the period 2008-2012; to analyse the options for extending the EU emissions trading system to new sectors (including transportation) and gases; and to ensure subsequent implementation of an enlarged system in the second commitment period, starting 2012.
